So yes, we’ve spent a fair share of quality time indoors over the last six months, and that quality time will likely increase as we transition from warm summer days to drearier ones. We’ve rounded up some bedroom inspiration, because there’s nothing like retreating to the comfort of your covers.

Clean and Calming

Sleek and soft

Designer Nyla Free chose this bedroom’s light wood and white palette that's soothing, while the storage wall makes for a clutter-free and organized space. It's also perfect to display different pieces for an added element of elegance.

Luxe

Playful Plush

In this bedroom designed by Kalu Interiors, layered textures create an air of playfulness, while metallic accents add luxury. The combination is both comforting and elegant, and that faux-fur throw blanket adds even more plush.

Modern Bungalow

Cabin Comfort

Designer Paul Lavoie created this cabin getaway, on Lake Okanagan in Kelowna, B.C., for the late cable magnate Jim Shaw. This lakefront retreat was intended for family time and relaxation, and Lavoie, who had designed several homes for Shaw, reflected that in the design. With greyer tones and an emphasis on comfortable furniture, the bedroom is calming yet still light-filled thanks to the large windows overlooking the lake - perfect for slumbering or curling up with a good book.

Bright and Modern

In this East Vancouver home, interior designer Madeleine Sloback of Madeleine Design Group and contractor Jon Pulice of Rain City Homes paired to renovate and reimagine the homeowner's childhood home. The new bedroom is light and bright, and the white backdrop is elevated with rustic bedside tables, metallic lamps and textured pillows.

Quiet Retreat

This peaceful retreat, designed by Stephanie Vogler of The Cross Decor and Design, offers ultimate coziness thanks to a warm neutral palette and luscious linens. The four-poster bed, made with distressed white oak, adds a dramatic and warm element to the space, along with its ultra-soft pillows and throws, and a Scandinavian-style shag rug underfoot.

Modern Bungalow

Minimal Chic

In this mid-century modern-inspired Calgary bungalow, designer Nicky Gretzan (of Nik Interiors) went for practical with a side of sleek and pretty. In the bedroom, sliding barn-style doors keep the layout tidy. The Flos Aims pendent lights mounted on the ceiling a statement piece while allowing for a clean tabletop look.
