The 2020 HAVAN Awards Gala Moves Online This Year

For the last decade, the Homebuilders Association of Vancouver (HAVAN) would take over the grand ballroom at the JW Marriot Pinnacle for their celebration of homebuilders and renovators across Metro Vancouver. This year the show goes, but in a virtual format. “We are adapting to the new world under a COVID-19 lens,” says HAVAN CEO, Ron Rapp. “Taking the gala online gives everyone a front row seat.” 

The HAVAN Awards promote the world-class homes being constructed by our local industry €” from awe-inspiring whole-home transformations to cleverly designed townhome communities. 

Hosted by actress and producer Bianca Solterbeck on June 19, this year’s Home Edition Gala allows for designers and ambitious homeowners to take a sneak peek inside some of the latest home designs, while finding inspiration and connecting with trusted local professionals.

Here are a few of the many finalists below.

Deep Cove Cliffhanger

This custom waterfront home in Deep Cove is nominated for best custom home build under $3 million. Constructed in line with Passive House and Net-Zero Construction practices – Naikoon Contracting may have a level up. 

Outside In

This jaw-dropping courtyard begs the question of outside or inside… or both? Located in South Surrey, this custom build is nominated for best new space and best special feature by Novak Contracting. 

Glenwood Modern Farmhouse

This modern farmhouse by Goldcon Construction is nominated for best custom home under $1.5 million. Located on Glenwood drive in North Vancouver – features timeless yet contemporary design. 

Welcome Home

This pretty Kerrisdale residence is nominated for best renovation under $699,000 by Novell Design Build.

The online event will also host a variety of interactive contests and special guests
