What can we say—we're suckers for Scandi-cool homewares. Ikea's 2021 July release is all about sweet, sweet summer: relaxed, playful and tranquil designs for easy living. Here are some of our favourites available in-store and online starting July 1, 2021.

Chilifrukt vase/watering canA wacky watering can

Chilifrukt vase/watering can, $3.99

Designer Mikael Axelsson really couldn't have cared less what a watering can is supposed to look like, and we love this minimalist yet whimsical take. These watering cans come in glass or green powder coated steel and can also be used as vases.

Brunstarr cushion coverA cushion cover that changes everything

Brunstarr cushion cover, $29.99

I'm guilty of buying one Ikea item that's meant to be a finishing touch and then falling in love with it so hard that I change all of my other decor to suit it. (Case in point, my yellow Langsted rug, which I thrifted on a whim for $15 last summer. Now, everything in my home is yellow.) This geometric cushion cover also has the potential to change everything.

Odonvide weighted blanketA weighted blanket for cooler times

Odonvide weighted blanket, $79.99

Okay, no one is in the mood to hear about a weighted blanket right now (hello, heat wave!) but as time relentlessly marches on the weather is going to change—and it's hard to find a weighted blanket for less than $200. The blanket weighs 8kg, and the filling is made of recycled polyester pearls, which is an environmental plus.

Drömsk plant potA pretty plant pot

Drömsk plant pot, from $2.99

If you've been investing more time and energy in to plant care than personal relationships this year, as I proudly have, you're going to want to see these—the Drömsk plant pots have a gorgeous, textured blue glaze that's serene and chic.

Blåkullen upholstered bed frame with corner headboardA daybed that literally goes from day to night

Blåkullen upholstered bed frame with corner headboard, $199

This new bed frame is enviably casual. (How effortlessly it lounges—bed? Sofa? Who cares!) It's not just for show, either: designer David Wahl stressed how important it was for the bed to be comfy for watching tv, hanging with friends or sleeping.
