It’s fitting that a blow dry bar would focus on a light and airy feel, but this design lies in the details. Wish Dry Bar owner Sogol Clark wanted a sense of elegance and quality materials in her new West Vancouver Studio, and brought in Peter Wilds of Peter Wilds Design and Matthew McCormick of Matthew McCormick Studio to bring her vision to life. The results will€”pun very much intended€”blow you away.

A palette of clean and warm whites, plus sand tones, taupes and shades of grey, was selected for the studio. A pedestal table from Union Wood Co. sits under the main focal point of the space: gorgeous brass pendant lighting by Matthew McCormick.

In the sunny reception area, a velvet upholstered sofa and occasional chair (both by Gubi) from Inform Interiors welcomes clients in.

Different “zones” of the salon were divided using 8-foot brass-lined archways. “Each archway takes you to a different area with a different feel and experience,” says designer Peter Wilds. The brass details€”and all of the mirrors€”are by New Format Studio.

Styling chairs by MDF Italia (pictured) and shampoo chairs from Gamma & Bross USA were selected for comfort first, aesthetic second€”but they sure are pretty.

Behind that first arch is the shampoo station, which has a bit of a darker colour palette than the rest (perfect for those oh-so-relaxing head massages). Herringbone patterned tile from Olympia runs throughout the space.

A peek into the third “zone” of the salon, where cabinet pulls by Bradford Hardware keep the brass theme going.
