Landa Global Properties is redefining luxury at the company’s newest residential development, 1818 on Alberni and Denman. This condo development, launching today, will feature 36 homes at an unparalleled location in Vancouver, each boasting exclusive and unprecedented interior design features.

According to Landa CEO, Kevin Cheung, the vision for 1818 stemmed from Landa’s desire to create something that was iconic and a game changer, something different than most of the buildings on the market now.

“There’s a common pastiche in this market,” he says, “where a lot of interior design for developers looks the same, and we wanted to elevate the definition of luxury in a project that we believe is setting some new standards for standout design.”

The starting point was the architecture and the location. “Architecturally, the building presents an innovative design that is cubist, but with undulation of form and a play of white that trickles into the interiors,” Cheung says. “So, there are a lot of clean lines, geometry and large spaces.”

Here are five elements incorporated into the interior design that elevate luxury:

1818 kitchens showcase beautiful marble finishes and an adjacent wok kitchen.

Stone veneer cabinetry: A first for a multi-family residence in Vancouver, signature 1818 kitchens features stone veneer cabinetry, backsplash and counters. All three pieces are made from the same piece of stone, so the look is aligned, making a bold and stunning statement in these luxury kitchens. “The grain is continuous across the upper cabinets and there’s a separate adjacent piece for the counters and backsplash,” says Cheung. “This speaks to the craftsmanship. It’s time consuming and meticulous work to achieve that look.”

Smart technology brings convenience and comfort to your finger tips.

Bang & Olufsen smart home technology: 1818 is the first project to incorporate Bang & Olufsen smart home technology in Vancouver. Homes at 1818 will feature integrated smart home technology from the innovative Danish company on touch screens for unified home control of lighting, motorized blinds, multi-room integrated audio and climate control.

Smart technology means unified home control of lighting, audio, motorized blinds, and climate control at your finger tips.

Wok kitchens allow the main kitchen to remain a showpiece area.
Wok kitchens: “It’s a luxury to have a second kitchen,” says Cheung. “It’s an extension of your kitchen and can double as a pantry or wine room. It allows you to keep formal kitchen more as a showpiece, while your wok kitchen does the heavy lifting.”
From a design perspective, this allowed more luxurious marble finishes in the main kitchen, with engineered stone countertops in the side, wok kitchens.

Herring bone floors are a stunning detail in these warm, contemporary living spaces.

Herringbone floors: This is a huge part of the aesthetic of these homes. “This is an expensive floor—wire brushed and oiled planks from Austria,” says Cheung. “The stained oak floors were used because it gives a sense of luxury. The flooring itself has a pattern and there’s an old-world connotation with it, an allusion to European stately homes and manors.”

Marble finishes and gorgeous views bring the spa experience home at 1818.
