The Coast Goods is a little neighbourhood home decor & giftware shop sitting pretty in a 100+ year old building at the corner of Victoria Drive & Charles Street in East Vancouver. The shop features a curated collection of independent artisans and ethically made goods, both local and global.
While there is a strong focus on local at The Coast Goods, especially in our collection of pottery, weaving, artwork, apothecary + self-care brands, there are also small batch artisans from across Canada, the US, and Europe, as well as brands ethically produced elsewhere. These latter products aim to provide a selection of goods accessible to every budget. We hope to start working with artisans to create our own line of in-house products for the Coast Goods, so please drop us a line if you’d like to collaborate!
The shop’s outside mural was painted by local artist Lori Popadiuk. Many neighbours stop by weekly for a feel-good walkabout, a little chat and often a gift for a friend or themselves.
The Coast Goods ships right across Canada. New items are added to their website and Instagram regularly, and can be purchased directly on the store website.
Proprietor Tanya McLean (owner + creative director of mango design co) has been dreaming and sketching up shop ideas for the last few decades. It was her idea coming up with Coast Goods’ beach-inspired interior design, and the store’s thoughtful selection of goods is meant to evoke a laid-back coastal vibe.
Since opening The Coast Goods, Tanya and her daughter Hannah (seen on the left) have felt more connected to their community than ever.
