The Aviary's picnic and conversation series may be our new favourite summer social.
Is there anything better than a summer picnic? Even the most basic, I-don’t-have-a-blanket-so-I’ll-sit-in-the-grass types are perfect for whiling away an afternoon. Imagine our delight then, when we learned that the duo behind Vancouver’s coolest co-working space is hosting a series of picnics for designers, creatives and hungry folks alike. On the day of the picnic, guests will be given an individual bag—filled with goodies from Field and Social, the Juice Truck and Beta5 Chocolates—and told to follow the white-arrow road from the Aviary office to Robson Park. It’s here where you can find a spot amongst a stunning installation (this is no ordinary picnic, remember—the last featured long white blankets and plants in geometric pots) and mingle with other local creators as you feast on nourishing salads and charcoal lemonade. And then it’s time to learn from the pros. Field and Social’s Barbora Samieian and Walrus’s Caroline Boquist will be at the next picnic (Friday, August 11) to share their perspectives on how design has informed their businesses. We’ll see you there!
When: Friday, August 11 (12 p.m. to 2 p.m.)Where: Robson ParkTickets: $50 (available online)
