We're having a long-distance love affair with this Parisian bistro, for now.
It wasnt supposed to be like this. Weddings werent supposed to be postponed, family reunions cancelled, those long-planned trips to Europe indefinitely shelved.
But we’re adapting. Nuptials rescheduled, family gatherings by Zoom. And if we cant get to Paris, it will come to us, in the form of an ode to La Buvette: the perfect bistro and gathering place that led the renaissance of the 9th arrondissement, taking it from red-light central to our fave neighbourhood. Owner Camille Fourmont’s new cookbook is mix of recipes, wine notes and longform observations about the spot that almost make you feel like you've there. So pour yourself a glass of natural wine, break out the salted anchovies and sunny yellow eggs, and let's go on the journey together.
Words and recipes by Camille Fourmont and Kate Leahy, photographs by Marcus Nilsson.
