Hester Creek Estate Winery celebrates the 50th Anniversary of its vineyard this year, with lots of special happenings, including its series of intimate BBQ lunches overlooking the vineyards at Hester Creek's 105-acre Mediterranean-influenced grounds on Oliver's Golden Mile Bench.
This summer's celebratory season kicks off on Friday June 15th, with an intimate, Anniversary Tuscan BBQ lunch for 30 on the Oak Terrace. Hosted by Winemaker Mark Hopley and Chef Rod Butters of Terrafina at Hester Creek by RauDZ, this is an event not to miss. The following afternoon, guests at the winery will enjoy a live retro-music performance by Joshua Smith.The anniversary celebrations will culminate in a revival party weekend, from August 24th to 26th. On Friday August 24th, Hester Creek and Chef Rod Butters of Terrafina, will hold a long-table dinner in the vineyard for 100 lucky guests. On Saturday August 25th, Hester Creek hosts a family-friendly wine, food, and music festival. The weekend's festivities wrap up with Sunday brunch at Terrafina.
As part of the celebrations, Hester Creek has just released the limited-edition, commemorative Garland, to honour vineyard-owner Curt Garland. Garland is a cabernet-dominant blend from a superior vintage with highlights of dark cherry and mulberry and a good tannin structurethis wine is crafted to cellar. Garland is available exclusively at the winery, just 350 cases will be produced, and for this year only.
