Mountain modern meets homey bedroom in this winter-wonderland Whistler chalet.
Sophie Burke’s design for this master bedroom in Whistler has a look so cozy you can’t wait to get home to it. There are hints of classic mountain design, like fir beams, brushed steel door handles, even a sheepskin rug at the foot of the bed.But Burke’s given it a warm, modern update: the sliding barn door and the feature wall are sandblasted, whitewashed fir; the lacquered grey bedside table from Poliform is the perfect pair to the warm grey wool on the headboard. It’s a retreat worthy of a post-hill cuddle-up with a hot chocolate and a good read. The flexible nature of the Holtkoetter Swing Arm Wall Sconce ($349) encourages bedtime reading. lightthestore.comBring texture with a John Rodshaw Rabari Pillow (from $120). thecrossdesign.comKeep the bedding warm neutrals, like Vintage Washed Belgian Linen (from $89). restorationhardware.com Add a modern element with the Poliform Dream Night Table ($1,640). informinteriors.com
