The next Design Talks Institute event will tackle West Coast Modernism November 25 in Calgary.
Is there such a thing as West Coast modernism on the Prairies? That’s the topic up for debate at next week’s new Design Talks Institute event, Iconomy, where a host of industry speakers including Alex Bozikovic, Dale Taylor and Fred Valentine will dig deep into this style that emerged in the 1950s and examine the possibilities of an adaptive reuse of Calgary’s Lacey Court building. Expect an informal discussion about West Coast modernism and a closer look at the city’s design history. What: D.talks Iconomy EventWhere: Freemason’s Hall – 330 12th Ave. SW, CalgaryWhen: Doors at 6 p.m.Tickets: $12 per adult, $5 for studentsMore info: dtalks.org
