Now accepting applications for editorial internships for Summer 2022, Fall 2022, and Winter 2022.
If you’re a student looking for workplace credit to complete your degree, we’ve got a very fun way to do it: the Western Living and Vancouver magazine editorial internship program.
Our flexible, remote editorial internships get you hands on experience working with our award-winning editorial brands, as well as mentorship and a close working relationship with the Western Living and Vancouver magazine editorial team.
You’ll walk away with a portfolio of digital and print stories, fact-checking and research experience, tons of interviews under your belt, and great connections at the West Coast’s biggest magazine publisher, Canada Wide Media.
We’re also happy to tailor your practicum experience to suit your specific passions or curiosities. Want to shadow the art department, or sit in on a sales meeting to see just how magazines come together? Want to dabble in podcasting, social media or video production? We can help with that.
Whether you’re studying journalism, publishing, english, communications, or another media-related program, we can accommodate short- and long-term practicum placements so you can complete the hours you need for school credit. (Though unfortunately, this is currently an unpaid position.)
To apply, please submit a cover letter, resume and three non-academic writing samples to Stacey McLachlan, editor at large, smclachlan@canadawide.com.
Placements are ongoing, so please include your preferred time frame and required hours in your email.
More info over on our internship page here.
