In the rapidly growing city, Concord Pacific is upping the ante with its latest development, Park Boulevard.
In the next 30 years, another one million people are expected to move to Metro Vancouver, with 70 per cent settling South of the Fraser River. Already the second-largest city in B.C., the City of Surrey has prepared for this coming growth by making improvements in employment, transit, and housing.Due in part to the federal government's recent pledge of $2.2 billion to enhance Metro Vancouver's transit infrastructure, Surrey Mayor Linda Hepner is confident that 2018 will see ground broken on Surrey's new LRT line, ensuring the city's transit system keeps pace with its fast-growing population by putting 200,000 people within five minutes of rapid transit. B.C.’s First Light Rail Transit System, Phase 1 Scheduled for Completion in 2022.More jobs are coming to Surrey too, as industry leaders see the ever-evolving city as a viable place to do business. Last year, Skydance Media opened a 75,000-square-foot studio complex in Surrey. A new sci-fi Netflix series filming here will employ up to 400 staff over several years.Innovation Boulevard, a City initiative in Surrey that started a few years ago, has also attracted a number of forward-thinking tech organizations to the region. This initiative's vision is to bring the problem-solvers from health institutions, business, higher education, and government together through partnership and entrepreneurship to create new innovative health technologies to improve people's lives.Post-secondary institutions are also seeing Surrey's potential. Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) will be expanding into Surrey City Centre with a new 30,000-square-foot education facility anticipated to open late summer this year, which will be dedicated to providing world-class post-graduate programs in professional development, business, and innovation. Likewise, SFU is expanding its Surrey campus with a 160,000-square-foot. Energy-Systems-and-Environmental-Engineering-Program building, scheduled to open in spring 2018. $126 Million SFU Surrey Campus Expansion Scheduled for Completion in 2018.
The proposed Energy Systems and Environmental Engineering Program is the first of its kind in Western Canada. It will focus on degree programs and research into clean technology and sustainable energy.Increased housing density is coming to the area too. Concord Pacific, a Canadian leader in master-planned high-rise communities, first invested in Surrey in 2008. Senior Vice President of Sales for Concord Pacific, Grant Murray, indicates that this was because the company saw Surrey City Centre's tremendous growth potential.Concord Pacific's newest Surrey project, Park Boulevard, builds on the company's strong record of developments along transit lines.
Park Boulevard, a collection of one-, two-, three- bedroom units, and three-bedroom townhomes, is adjacent to King George SkyTrain station, and the soon-to-be home of the King George LRT station. When the new LRT line is complete, residents of Park Boulevard will be steps from rapid transit travelling not only West to Vancouver, but also East and South, to Guilford, Newton, White Rock, and Langley. The Boulevard Spa is a place for residents to retreat, relax and rejuvenate. Enjoy access to an indoor pool, tepidarium, sauna, steam room, experience shower and more.
