Sweet or savoury, weve got you covered.
Looking for a tasty stocking-stuffer or the perfect gift basket to send your friends over the holidays? These Edmonton stores are offering holiday treats that will be sure to impress all of the foodies in your life.
Chocolate advent calendars just got way more exciting thanks to this international award-winning Edmonton chocolate company. The Violet Chocolate Company is now accepting pre-orders for chocolate advent calendars full of truffles, melt-aways and mini-bites. Some of the flavours that can be found inside are pumpkin chai, caramel apple and cranberry almond. They also have their 2016 Holiday Collection available, which includes hot chocolates and holiday classics like their gingerbread chocolate bar.
This Edmonton-favourite also offers chocolate advent calendars, but if you want to really step up your holiday decorating game, we recommend JACEK’s chocolate ornaments. Their assortment of milk chocolate, dark chocolate, or sugar-free chocolate ornaments make for perfect stocking stuffers. Or if you want to send a larger gift, check out JACEK’s Christmas-themed joy box, full of this seasons most popular sweets.
Thanks to Cavern, you can send your friends an entire gift crate full of mouth-watering artisanal cheeses, crackers, charcuterie, and preservatives. Some of their cheese varieties include triple créme brie, which owner Tricia Bell says is “to die for,” raclette de compton poivre (Quebec raclette layered with pink peppercorns) “pure magic in cheese,” Comté (traditional French Alp cheese aged for 12 months) “that pleases absolutely everyone,” and pecorino Romano (made from 100 percent sheep’s milk from Italy) “a real stunner in salty deliciousness.” If that doesn’t get your tummy rumbling, Cavern gift crates can also include Olli slow-cured artisanal salumi.
Evoolution’s olive oils, gourmet salts and aged balsamic vinegars are a perfect compliment to just about any savoury meal. Starting December 1, general manager Daniel Fogal shares that they’ll be offering a new holiday-themed gift-set called Pick 6. You can customize your own gift-set based on your friend’s tastes by choosing any six olive oils or vinegars from more than 60 different flavours that Evoolution offers.
These Oscar-worthy cookies (no, seriously, they were served at the Oscars two years in a row) will be a hit at any Christmas party. Confetti Sweets is selling holiday boxes that you can fill with 12 fresh-baked cookies. Some of the festive flavours include white chocolate candy cane, classic shortbread and chewy gingersnap.
Christmas doughnuts anyone? “We’ll have seasonal flavours with a surprise,” says Moonshine Doughnuts co-owner Simon Underwood. “One flavour we’re bringing back is Christmas cookie crumble, a classic vanilla doughnut with a generous dusting of a holiday sprinkle cookie crumb.” And while the popular pop-up doughnut vendor has yet to open its store, you can find them here and they’ll also be offering limited time orders online on Christmas Eve.
For just about any pastry you can think of gifting someone, Duchess Bake Shop has you covered. Macarons, cakes, pies, you name it, they’ve got it. But, if it’s a Christmas style pastry you are looking for, you can find an assortment at the world-famous Edmonton bake shop starting December 1. One seasonal highlight includes Duchess’s buche de Noel, a “traditional French chiffon cake shaped like a yule log and adorned with pistachio moss, meringue mushrooms and salted chocolate bark.”
