For all you holiday craft lovers in Vancouver, Victoria, Kelowna, Abbotsford, Calgary and Edmonton.
It’s early November and already holiday craft fair season is upon us! We’ve put together a list of the best Christmas craft events to check out across the West so you won’t miss a single opportunity to score great gift ideas or picture-perfect decor.
Celebrating its 42nd year as the largest craft market in Western Canada, Circle Craft Market (on now!) at the Vancouver Convention Centre is featuring more than 300 artisans from across the country. Becoming a holiday tradition for many, attendees can expect the finest wood-turners, glassblowers, sculptors, potters, clothing and jewelery designers, toy makers, and more throughout the event. circlecraftmarket.ca
A legendary location for parties since 1911, the historical Edwardian Hycroft Mansion is the ideal location to immerse in the beauty of the holidays, providing three floors and a courtyard of inspiring decor provided by Flower Factory and Bombay & Co. Visitors can expect varieties of pop-up boutiques (homemade marshmallows anyone?), crafters, treats and artisans in addition to entertainment, a “super silent” auction and Santa visits! uwcvancouver.ca
Take note craft-fair lovers, this year’s first annual event at the PNE Forum is not to be missed. Not only is this upcoming fair featuring a three-storey tall walk-through snow globe and a giant Christmas tree, there will also be more than 100 vendors on site with shopping and culinary offerings galore and, of course, the big bearded guy and his reindeer will be there too. vancouverwinterwonderland.com
In what sounds to be a fantasy world of holiday magic, the West Coast Christmas Show and Artisan Marketplace presents 200-plus exhibits of holiday gifts, fancy foods and exclusive decor ideas at Tradex. Now, picture walking through wonderfully decorated Christmas trees to the sound of locally performed Christmas music and then proceeding to the Home for the Holidays stage featuring well-known chefs and home decorating experts providing tips for holiday entertainment. westcoastchristmasshow.com
With a location like the historic Crystal Garden, you can expect the finest crafts, holiday bites and one-of-a-kind fashions at the Out of Hand Artisan Christmas Fair. This year look out for excellent prizes, a pop-up Etsy boutique and fine food service by the Fairmont Empress. outofhand.ca
One of Canada’s biggest holiday shopping events in two locations will host more than 250 vendors with a large range of locally and nationally sourced handmade products from jewellery to natural body care to gourmet treats! festivalofcrafts.ca butterdome.ca
Formerly the Kelowna Christmas Show, this two-day market at Prospera Place is all about supporting local talent while shopping for special handmade items. Shop, enjoy a glass of wine (now that’s our kind of craft fair), and check out the on-stage entertainment. craftculture.ca
