Spoiler alert: we love it.

Though Ikea made its name with basics like the über-functional Lack side table, the furniture giant also knows more than a little something about style, as its proven with a string of design-forward collaborations over the  years. The latest is no exception: Ikea teamed up with fashion designer Chris Stamp to produce a brand new collection of sleek, modern furniture pieces designed for urban lifestyles—and a few surprisingly playful accessories to go along with them.Designer Chris Stamp with his new Ikea collaboration collection. (Finally, something to wear as you’re building that Billy bookshelf.) “The idea behind the collection is for Ikea to reimagine how the younger, aesthetic, conscience, consumer is organizing their wardrobe and accessories at home,” says Stamp. “I want them to be able to take pride in how they display their clothing and footwear, allowing them to appreciate their pieces just as much when they’re not being worn.” To wit, Stamp’s storage units feature mesh and acrylic, creating an opportunity for display even when things are tucked away.Find Spänst pieces in Canadian Ikea stores starting May 1. Here’s a few of our favourites:

The modular acrylic Spänst shoe box ($25 each)—there are powder-coated steel options, too—can be stacked up or spread out as desired.
“We tried different approaches and materials, until we ended up with the mesh fabric. Because it’s see-through it gives a nice visual effect depending on which angle you’re looking at it from,” says Ikea collaborator Maja Ganszyniec of the mesh-and-steel waredrobe ($199).
The standing support ($89) is the perfect antidote to our sitting-is-the-new-smoking lifestyle. Table top with trestles is $299.
This rack ($69) can be used for shoes if skateboarding isn’t your thing.
Stamp calls the LED light stick (from $30) his favourite piece of the collection. “The light is just an awesome piece. You can use it in so many different realms, and the fact that you can charge it with your USB makes it really flexible, whether it’s on your wall with your smartphone adaptor or with your computer.”
The duffel bag ($30) is one of several fashion accessories Stamp brought into the collection—others include a ball cap, t-shirts and hoodies.
