The sister trend to the “grandmillennial” look is “soft launch”: tactile design with plenty of soft layers and textures. Bring on the bouclé and even some unexpected fringe—like a minimalistic looking glass mirror with a whimsical yet oh-so-modern mohair accent. Plush materials are a perennial go-to yet are continually reimagined in pieces like Patricia Urquiola’s Dudet chair, which echoes a hug, but this cozy factor also appears in lighting that has the muted and matte feel of the mushrooms it’s biofabricated from.
