Pleat Box lights bring warmth, texture and drama into the warmest room in the house.
I popped into Lightform’s new Calgary showroom when I was in town a couple of weeks ago, and it’s truly stunning. Chalkboard paint on the walls is a striking backdrop to the architectural lighting (I’m currently debating a feature wall in chalkboard myself), and the collection is terrific—around 25 lines, including Parachilna, Metalarte, Moooi, Roll and Hill, along with my favourite on display, Marset. The latter is a Spanish lighting company with an incredibly diverse range of designs and materials—metal, glass and ceramics. These Pleat Box lights were a personal favourite: designed to look like a creased piece of cloth, the outer lamp comes in white, ceramic, brown, black, grey and (my pick) terracotta, with brilliant white enamel inside. Gathered as a trio, they’re perfect over a kitchen table; or staggered, across a kitchen island.Pleat Box by Marset, from $700, available at Lightform in Calgary, Vancouver and Edmonton, lightform.ca
